Description (eng)
The three collective granaries at Iġrman n-Tlmst, belonging to three segments of the Ayt Bu Iknifn, are described as the “capital” of the local Ayt Bu Iknifn by Ernest Gellner (Saints of the Atlas, London 1969, p. 158 n. 1 and unnumbered illustration “The capital of the Ait Atta of Talmest”). In 1983 two of them had fallen to ruins. Photograph taken October 6, 1983 during ethnographic fieldwork in the central High Atlas mountains in Morocco.
