Teil 15: Rudolf Grimm: Quantum physics of ultracold molecules
Abstract: Molecular quantum gases in the nanokelvin range can be created through a magnetically controlled association of atom pairs. The molecules are formed in a single quantum state and, because of their rich internal structure, provide us with an intriguing new system in quantum physics of ultracold matter. We report on our experiments with pure molecular quantum gases of 133Cs2 dimers. We demonstrate the creation and detection of the molecules, we report on the observation of resonances in molecule-molecule collisions that indicate the formation of 133Cs4 tetramer states, and we show the realization of a molecular matter-wave interferometer.
