Abstract (deu)
Die Wiener Theaterlandschaft weist ein breit gefächertes Angebot an Klein- und Mittelbühnen, sowie Freien Theatergruppen auf. Die Arbeit geht auf unterschiedliche Aspekte aktueller Theaterarbeit ein und beschäftigt sich vorrangig mit der kulturpolitischen Situation in Wien heute. In Zeiten von Subventionskürzungen wird die Frage gestellt wie sich die heutige Theaterarbeit an Klein- und Mittelbühnen, sowie innerhalb Freier Theatergruppen gestaltet. Neben dem derzeitigen Fördersystem wird auch die soziale Lage von SchauspielerInnen näher betrachtet. Die seit langem vorherrschenden Probleme in Bezug auf eine soziale Absicherung stellen eine aktuelle politische Herausforderung dar, um weiterhin Freie Theaterarbeit zu unterstützen und dauerhaft zu gewährleisten. Die Arbeit beleuchtet diese Aspekte an drei Beispielen heutiger Theaterproduktion in Wien. Neben dem Theater TAG und dem Theater Drachengasse wird die Freie Theatergruppe Ansicht auf kulturpolitische, künstlerische und soziale Aspekte hin untersucht. Die Arbeit soll ein umfassendes Bild aktueller Theaterarbeit in Wien geben und die Rahmenbedingungen für den Beruf des/der SchauspielerIn und die damit verbundenen Probleme aufzeigen.

Theatre in Vienna comprises a wide range of small and middle-staged theaters and off- theatre companies. The thesis points out different aspects of current theatre and discusses predominantly cultural and educational policy in Vienna. In today’s situation of subsidy restriction, the question arises how this affects the work of small and middle staged theatres, as well as off-theatre companies. Besides analyzing the current subsidy situation, it deals with describing the social security situation of actors. Since stable working conditions are challenged by subsidy shortage, the challenge of finding a way to support off-theatre work is crucial for its continuity. The thesis analyzes the current situation on the basis of three different Viennese theatres. The research deals with the TAG, the Theater Drachengasse and the off- theater company Ansicht. Cultural and educational policy as well as artistic and social aspects are being investigated. The thesis wants to show a comprehensive view of current work in Viennese theatres and the basic conditions for actors with all problems related to this profession.
