Abstract (eng)
The diploma thesis Paradigmanalysis & critique in Hunter-Gatherer-Studies deals with the diverse paradigms, that can be found in the field of Hunter-Gatherer-Studies. This analysis uses an analytic frame, which is presented in the first part of the thesis and covers distinctions like nomothetic-ideographic, materialistic-idealistic, holistic-individualistic, formalistic-substantivistic, synchronic-diachronic, emic-etic and others.
In the second part of the thesis, those paradigms are classified according to the criteria, visualized through examples and compared to each other. Furthermore, comparisons are made via the reconstructions of some famous debates. On the basis of the analysis, some theories are criticized.
The aim of the thesis is to show the theoretical orientation of the paradigms, in order to become a better understanding of the whole field of Hunter-Gatherer-Studies and the theories and to make future debates more factual.
