Abstract (deu)
Das Thema der Diplomarbeit behandelt die Verwendung von Animationen im Dokumentarfilm. Anhand der Filmbeispiele CHICAGO 10 von Brett Morgen, THE GREEN WAVE von Ali Samadi Ahadi und WALTZ WITH BASHIR von Ari Folman wird veranschaulicht wie Animationen dem Dokumentarfilm ein Hilfsmittel sein können um Ereignisse, persönliche Geschichten und Erinnerungen wie der Mehrwert an Authentizität verbildlicht wird. In Anlehnung an mediale Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen, politische Hintergründe, die Eingrenzung in Dokumentarfilm- und Animationsgattungen und die persönliche Motivation der Regisseure wurden die Filme analysiert. Es wird aufgezeigt wie die divergierenden Animationsstile - trotz ihres eigentlichen Anspruches, nicht auf eine alltägliche Realität Bezug zu nehmen - dies in den behandelten Dokumentarfilmen teilweise aufheben und gleichzeitig eine realitätsnahe Darstellung verstärken.

The thesis deals with the matter of the usage of animation in documentary films. On the basis of three animated documentaries, which are CHICAGO 10 by Brett Morgen, THE GREEN WAVE by Ali Samadi Ahadi and WALTZ WITH BASHIR by Ari Folman, it has been tried to show how animation can be a helpful medium to demonstrate events, personal narratives and memories in reference to the additional benefit of authenticity within documentary films. These movies have been analyzed in dependence on the medial construction of reality, the political backgrounds, the classification in documentary, as well as animation styles and the personal motivation of the directors. At the same time it has been attempted to show in what kind of manner the diverging animation genres can reinforce a representation of events, which are meant to demonstrate aspects close to reality.
