Diese Masterarbeit befasst sich mit dem Thema „varietätenlinguistische Untersuchungen zur Asylrechtsterminologie in Österreich“. Im theoretischen Teil erfolgt neben wesentlichen Begriffsdefinitionen eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit der Plurizentrizität der Deutschen Sprache, den Grundbegriffen der Varietätenlinguistik sowie ein Überblick zu den Merkmalen der einzelnen Varietäten. Wie wesentlich die Arbeit von professionellen Terminologinnen und Terminologen ist, wird zu Beginn des praktischen Teils erläutert. Weiterführend werden die Fachsprache und die Rechtssprache mit ihren Charakteristika abgehandelt. Das Kapitel zum Asylrecht bietet einen Einblick in das österreichische Asylrecht, die Verfahrensabläufe sowie die wichtigsten Instanzen. Schließlich untersucht die Verfasserin der vorliegenden wissenschaftlichen Arbeit, das Schengen/Dublin Glossar, das Asyl- und Migrationsglossar des EMN, das Integrationsglossar und den Asylterminologie-Führer (DE-RU) hinsichtlich Austriazismen. Wieviele Austriazismen identifiziert wurden respektive inwiefern auf diese hingewiesen wird und auf welche Weise wird am Ende der Arbeit im Rahmen der Ergebnisse und Schlussfolgerung präsentiert.

This Master’s thesis focuses on the research topic “Variational-linguistic research on asylum related terminology in Austria”. The theoretical part of this paper regards definitions of essential terms and continues with the treatise on the pluricentricity of German and variational linguistics. In addition an overview of the characteristics of varieties is provided. The discussion at the beginning of the second part of the present thesis will show, of which significant importance the work of professional terminologists nowadays is. The common technical as well as the legal language are discussed with their characteristics in the next chapters. The chapter on asylum law will give an insight into the Austrian asylum law, its procedures and the most important instances. Finally, the author of the present Master’s thesis will examine the Schengen/Dublin Glossary, the Asylum and Migration Glossary 2.0, the Integration-Glossary (Integrationsglossar) and the Guidance through Asylum Terminology in Austria (Asylterminologie-Führer) in order to identify the so called Austriacisms. How many Austriacisms were identified and to what extent they are mentioned and if, will be presented in a final conclusion.
