Abstract (deu)
Die Spieler von Ultimate Frisbee, ein bis heute noch eher unbekannter Sport mit hohen sozialen Eigenschaften, und ihre Motive diesen Sport auszuüben wurden in dieser Diplomarbeit näher untersucht. Mit Hilfe eines Online-Fragebogens konnten insgesamt 128 spanische Ultimate Frisbee-Spieler/innen erreicht und zu ihren Beweggründen, mit Ultimate Frisbee zu beginnen bzw. zu den für die aktuelle Ausübung relevanten Motiven, befragt werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass für den Einstieg in Ultimate vor allem kontaktfreudige Motive ausschlaggebend sind, diese aber auch aktuell noch eine große Bedeutung haben. Die Besonderheiten des Sports gewinnen im Laufe der Zeit an Wichtigkeit, und stehen aktuell auf Rang Eins der Motive. Auch die naturbezogenen Motive sind für Ultimate-Spieler/innen, im Gegensatz zu anderen Teamsportarten, sehr wichtig. Im Zuge der Untersuchung konnte auch das BMZI, ein Inventar zur Erhebung von Motiven im Sport, überprüft, bestätigt und ergänzt werden.
Für Vereine, Sportclubs, aber besonders auch für den Sportunterricht könnte diese Arbeit herangezogen werden, um zukünftig den Sport Ultimate Frisbee öfter einzusetzen, um dessen wertvolle soziale, pädagogische und sportliche Aspekte weiterzugeben.

This thesis comprises an analysis of the motives of Ultimate Frisbee players, a widely unknown team-sport. Using an online questionnaire, 128 active players were reached and their motives for taking up as well as for upholding this sport were investigated. Regarding the results of the study, the main reason in both fields of the research is the striving for social interaction. The special characteristics of this sport attracted the people and made them get involved in Ultimate Frisbee. Those particular characteristics were furthermore mentioned to be the most important motive to stick with it. Moreover, the outcome shows that playing and being close to nature is significantly more relevant in this specific sport than in any other team-sports. The questionnaire used in this study is based on the BMZI, an inventory to categorize motives in sports, wich was approved and extended to the purpose.
On the basis of this work, the educative and social advantages of Ultimate can be pointed out and emphasized. This idea should be passed on to sport clubs and especially to schools, so that Ultimate Frisbee gets used to educate pupils socially.
