Abstract (deu)
Das Ziel der vorliegenden Masterarbeit ist es, die derzeitig verfügbaren CAT-Tools, deren Funktionen, Anwendungsbereiche, etc. zu analysieren und deren Bedeutung für Übersetzer zu untersuchen. In dieser Arbeit werden deshalb die Komplikationen in der Anwendung der CAT-Tools, nämlich das Translation Memory (TM) und die Maschinelle Übersetzung (MT), und mögliche Verbesserungsmaßnahmen erklärt. Darauf basierend wird die Zukunft von CAT-Tools im Kontext der internationalen Übersetzungsindustrie im Vergleich mit der japanischen untersucht. Im letzten Kapitel werden die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit zusammengefasst, die zu der Folgerung führen, dass die Nachfrage nach CAT-Tools trotz bestehender Probleme auch weiterhin ansteigen wird und deshalb weitere Untersuchungen und Entwicklungen zu ihrer Verbesserung vonnöten sind.
Abstract (eng)
The goal of this Master's thesis is to analyze the currently available CAT-Tools, their functions, applications, etc. and to examine their meaning for translators. This master's thesis therefore presents the problems of two types of CAT-Tools, the Translation Memory (TM) and the Machine Translation (MT), and their possibilities for improvement. Then, based on these results, the future of CAT-Tools in the context of the international translation industry is analyzed in comparison to the situation in Japan. The conclusion of this master's thesis is summarized in the last chapter. To sum it up, the demand for CAT-Tools is, regarding to the globalization and the lack of translators, especially in the field of business translation, becoming higher and higher, even though they create problems, and therefore further research and development are needed.
