In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden zwei Materiewellen-Interferometer vorgestellt, das Talbot-Lau Interferometer an der University of Southampton und das Kapitza-
Dirac-Talbot-Lau Interferometer an der Universität Wien.
Diese Arbeit umfasst den Aufbau eines Talbot-Lau Interferometers mit drei materiellen Gittern an der University of Southampton. Die Flugzeit Technik wird angewendet, um zufünftige Interferenzmessungen zu ermöglichen.
In dem Kapitza-Dirac-Talbot-Lau Interferometer an der Universität Wien ist das mittlere materielle Gitter durch ein optisches Phasengitter ersetzt. Wir konnten damit absolute Absorptionsquerschnitte messen und damit eine neue Anwendung von Materiewellen zeigen.

In this thesis I will describe two matter-wave interferometers, the Talbot-Lau interferometer at the University of Southampton and the Kapitza-Dirac-Talbot-Lau interferometer at the University of Vienna.
At the University of Southampton I worked on setting up a Talbot-Lau interferometer with three fixed material gratings and employed a time-of-flight technique for interference measurements.
At the University of Vienna I worked on the Kapitza-Dirac-Talbot-Lau interferometer with a central optical phase grating. Here, we demonstrated the absolute absorption cross section measurement as an application of matter-wave interferometry.
