Abstract (eng)
In the master’s thesis „Creating educational videos for GIS programs“, video tutorials for the computer program ArcGIS are created and evaluated afterwards. At the beginning of the thesis, several concepts regarding the didactics of computer science are presented, like „Informatik im Kontext“ and „Geoinformatik“. Furthermore, an analysis of the underlying literature is conducted, in order to evaluate, which aspects regarding the creation of educational videos need to be focused on during the recording process. Additionally, the empirical design of the thesis, which is based on design-based-research, as well as the method to evaluate the finished product, the guided interview, are presented. After the recording of the videos, the finished product is analyzed and evaluated by conducting several guided interviews. The remarks, which came up during those interviews, are then used to improve the created videos even further. By following these steps of the research process, it is possible to create educational videos, which are considered helpful and rated highly by the people, who were questioned during the guided interviews. These types of videos can also contribute to the creation of an innovative learning environment.
