Sīnā; (980 - 1037), latinisiert Avicenna war ein persischer Arzt, Physiker, Philosoph, Jurist, Mathematiker, Astronom, Alchemist und Musiktheoretiker. Er zählt zu den berühmtesten Persönlichkeiten seiner Zeit. Einige seiner philosophischen Ausarbeitungen wurden von späteren Mystikern des Sufismus rezipiert. Sīnā; (980 - 1037), commonly known by his latinized name Avicenna, was a persian physician, philosopher, lawyer, mathematician, astronomer, alchemist, and music theorist. He was one of the most famous people of his time. Some of his philosophical elaborations were later taken up by the mystics of Sufism.
