In dieser Masterarbeit liegt das Hauptaugenmerk auf der Erforschung von Translationsprozessen aus einer emischen Perspektive. Dabei werden innerhalb einer ethnographischen Forschung am Arbeitsplatz eines Übersetzers Einflüsse der Nutzung von Übersetzungstechnologien auf den Übersetzungsprozess festgehalten. Vor der ethnographischen Studie an sich folgt ein Überblick über die Entwicklung des Übersetzerberufs und dessen Technisierung über die letzten Jahrzehnte hinweg sowie über den aktuellen technologischen Standard am Arbeitsplatz von Übersetzer*innen. Darüber hinaus wird im Rahmen einer theoretischen Auseinandersetzung mit der Translationsprozessforschung auch der Zusammenhang mit der ethnographischen Forschungsarbeit samt ihrer zugrunde liegender Methoden erläutert. Zusammengefasst wird in dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit verdeutlicht, welch zentrale Rolle Übersetzungstechnologien im Arbeitsleben von Übersetzer*innen einnehmen und welchen Einfluss deren Nutzung auf Translationsprozesse haben kann.

This master’s thesis focuses on the research of translation processes from an emic perspective. Within an ethnographic workplace study, influences of the use of translation technologies on the translation process are recorded. The ethnographic study itself is preceded by an overview of the development of the translation profession and its technologization over the past decades, as well as the current technological standard in translators' workplaces. In addition, a theoretical discussion of translation process research (TPR) explains how it relates to the ethnographic research and its underlying methods. In conclusion, this thesis illustrates the central role that translation technologies play in the professional lives of translators and the impact that their use can have on translation processes.
