Die Masterarbeit untersucht mit Hilfe einer kritischen Diskursanalyse, wie der aktuelle Fluchtursachendiskurs geführt wird. Dazu werden der Abschlussbericht 2021 und die darin enthaltenen Narrative der Fachkommission Fluchtursachen der Bundesregierung daraufhin unter-sucht, welches Wissen über Fluchtursachen produziert wird und wie dieses aus einer postkolonialen und diskurstheoretischen Perspektive interpretiert werden kann. Dabei zeigt sich, dass Fluchtursachen im Globalen Süden verortet werden, während die Verantwortung des Globalen Nordens weitgehend ausgeblendet wird. Ein solches internalistisches Verständnis von Fluchtursachen wirkt entpolitisierend und wird durch postkoloniale Wissensproduktionen über Migrant*innen, den Globalen Süden und den Globalen Norden gestützt. Diese Wissenskonstruktionen führen dazu, dass sich eine globale Dimension von Fluchtursachen zwar teilweise im Bericht wiederfindet, sich aber nicht in den Handlungsempfehlungen widerspiegelt. Die Wissensproduktion im Bericht wird in der Masterarbeit als epistemische Gewalt analysiert, wodurch der hegemoniale Diskurs Wissen über Fluchtursachen verfestigt wird.

The master's thesis uses a critical discourse analysis to examine how the current discourse on the root causes of migration is constructed. To this end, the final report 2021 and the narratives of the German Fachkommission Fluchtursachen on the root causes of migration con-tained therein are examined to determine what knowledge is produced about root causes of migration and how this can be interpreted from a postcolonial and discourse-theoretical perspective. The research results show that the root causes of migration are localized in the Global South, while the responsibility of the Global North is largely ignored. Such an internalist understanding of the root causes of migration has a depoliticizing effect and is supported by postcolonial knowledge productions about migrants, the Global South and the Global North. These knowledge constructions lead to a global dimension of the root causes of migration being partially reflected in the report, but not in the recommendations for action. In the master's thesis, the production of knowledge in the report is analyzed as epistemic violence, which reinforces the hegemonic discourse about root causes of migration.
