Was ist wissenschaftliches Wissen? Welche Quellen gelten als legitim in westlicher Forschung und welche werden ausgegrenzt? Die Antworten auf diese Fragen sind politisch. Sie sind von großer Bedeutung für dekoloniale Forschung. In dieser Arbeit geht es um Chicana feministische Epistemologien. Um die Dekolonialisierung von Wissen, die sie vorschlagen und ermöglichen. Entlang drei zentraler Aspekte Chicana feministischen Schaffens, bridging – sharing – healing, wird das dekoloniale Potenzial von sechs verschiedenen Epistemologien aufgerollt: „Embodiment“, „Mestiza Consciousness“, „Pláticas“, „Testimonios“, „Trenzas“ und „Conocimiento“. Chicana feministische Epistemologien lehren Forschung als einen respektvollen, kollektiven und partizipativen Prozess auf Augenhöhe. Diese Arbeit stellt eine Annäherung an diesen Aufruf dar.

What are legitimate sources of scientific knowledge and which are excluded from Western research? The answer to this question is political. This master thesis is about the meaning of Chicana feminist epistemologies for a potential decolonization of knowledge. With three central aspects of Chicana feminist scholarship, bridging – sharing – healing, the decolonial potential of six Chicana feminist epistemologies will be analyzed: “Embodiment”, “Mestiza Consciousness”, “Pláticas”, “Testimonios”, “Trenzas” and “Conocimiento”. Chicana feminist epistemologies call for research as a respectful, collective, participatory process conducted at eye level. This thesis represents a response to this plea.
