Friedrich Wilhelm Ehrenfried Rost (1768 - 1835) war ein deutscher Theologe, Philosoph, Philologe und Dichter. Er war Rektor der Thomasschule zu Leipzig. Rosts schriftstellerische Tätigkeit erstreckte sich auf die verschiedensten Gebiete der Philologie und Pädagogik. Dauernden Wert haben die „Analecta critica“ in fünf Teilen und seine Arbeiten über Plautus, die nach Rosts Tod von C.H.A. Lipsius gesammelt und in zwei Bänden herausgegeben wurden.

Friedrich Wilhelm Ehrenfried Rost (1768 - 1835) was a german theologian, philosopher, philologist and author. He was principal of the classical grammar school Thomasschule in Leipzig. His writing covers different fields of philology and educational theory. The most lasting are his „Analecta critica“ in five parts and his work on Plautus, which were posthumously published by C.H.A. Lipsius in two volumes.
