Johannes Nider (1385 - 1438) war ein deutscher Theologe und Angehöriger des Dominikaner-Ordens. Er bemühte sich mit verschiedenen Schriften und Handbüchern um die Reform des Säkularklerus und erlangte Ansehen durch seinen Einsatz für die Kirchenreform und im Kampf gegen die Hussiten. Er war zeit seines Lebens ein eifriger Reformator der Klöster seines Ordens und ein Verfechter der "strikten Observanz".

Johannes Nider (1385 - 1438) was a German theologian and member of the Dominican order. He was dedicated to the reformation of the church and wrote numerous books and manuals to reform the secular clergy. His fight against the Hussites and his adherence to the principles of St. Thomas and his practical methods made him distinguished among his contemporaries.
