Description (eng)
This essay poses the question whether and how the changing dynamics of power in the Masoretic text of the book Ester are shown in the scenes of feasting and fasting. For this, a definition of power by Imbusch is employed to guarantee a view of power as holistically as possible. First, the function of feasting and fasting in the structure of the text and how it builds tension will be analyzed, and finally the content of the scenes of fasting and feasting will be looked at to investigate the dynamics of power more closely.
