Pierre Sonnerat 1748 -1814) war ein französischer Naturwissenschafter und Entdecker. Sein offizielles botanisches Autorenkürzel lautet „SONN.“ Er machte mehrere Reisen: von 1769 bis 1772 nach Südostasien, wobei er die Philippinen und Molukken besuchte, und von 1774 bis 1781 nach Indien und China. Unter anderem war er der Erstbeschreiber des südchinesischen Litchibaums

Vol. 2 Pierre Sonnerat (1748 -1814) was a French scientist and explorer. His botanist abbreviation is SONN. He went on several journeys: 1769 - 1772 to Southeast Asia, visiting the Philippines and the Molucca Islands, and 1774 - 1781 to India and China. Among other things, he was the first to describe the south-chinese lychee-tree.
