Abstract (eng)
At the didactic preparation of the useful plants department of the Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna, several difficulties appeared, like the large heterogeneity of the visitors and the long strung out topography. In order to be able to solve these problems by means of an adapted, didactic concept, a quantitative survey was undertaken, using questionnaires for four different target groups. The target groups were: Lower grade students, upper grade students, the general public and members of the group "Friends of the Botanical Garden". The method of survey was a self-constructed questionnaire touching on the ROSE-questionnaire (The Relevance Of Science Education). The interests and the previous knowledge regarding different useful plant groups, the perception of a concrete information board and general facts from altogether 230 subjects were investigated.
The results show group specific trends, which can be very helpful for the media creation in the useful plants department. Based on the results, an adapted, didactic concept for the useful plants department was created.
