Abstract (eng)
The thesis includes historical retospective views in a social culture field. One of the social factors for the success of Salsa is the poverty of the people. Music and dance offer cheap or free amusement and occupation. Although the producers of the Buena Vista Social Club music and film deny the use of an explicit marketing strategy, you can assume that an economic concept with marketing interests for reaching maximum profit existed. The human being tends to seek individuality through separation from social groups. Salsa offers access to a group which is connected through friendships, music and dance on a social level. Whilst the traditional concept of family is losing its value, Salsa offers strength and support on an emotional level. Investigations prove the enormous influence of music on the single individual, especially as music therapy. The same is valid for Salsa. The lack of fixed norms both on a musical and dancing level contribute to the popularity of Salsa which offers both musicians and dancers a big spectrum of improvisation. On a psycho-motoric level, dance benefits body, mind and soul. It promotes motor control, sense of balance, endurance, power of concentration, creativity, self-discipline, boosts self-onfidence, social communication and offers stress relief. Scientific investigations document the importance of physical contact for the existence of life. Dancing Salsa leads to physical contact which contributes to its popularity. The success of Salsa with non-Spanish speakers was unexpected. However, it seems reasonable to assume that the tonality generally as well as the sound of the Spanish language is subjectively perceived as being soft and enjoyable. Films connected with Salsa assist the degree of brand awareness. These music styles, Salsa, Merengue and Bachata show potential for even more success in the future. In this thesis, the harmony of music and linguistic creation is highlighted through analysis.
