Abstract (eng)
This master thesis is a comparative study of the biographies of Mary Stuart. It starts
with a chronology, which comprises nearly all, especially 470, published works on
this subject followed by a comparison of the works by Mignet, Zweig, and Fraser. The
selection of the authors, being one hundred and fifty years apart, was on intention, in
order to show the different approaches. For this reason each work is treated
individually at first. Then a comparison is made, which is divided in three large parts,
including the childhood and education of Mary Stuart, her regency in Scotland, and
her imprisonment in England. In each of these three parts three to four passages are
discussed in more detail.
