Abstract (eng)
Because of the poor results of comparative studies like PISA or TMSS, which took place in recent years, the education system was discussed more and more. As a consequence, new educational standards have been developed and in the course of this progress a kind of competence- oriented- education emerged.
The core of this study is to clarify the current education debate concepts and to create a scenario for an education that would meet these demands. Therefore, the e- learning method “Learning- path” has been selected. This is a path that contains a series of individual arranged learning sequences, which are worked out in an independent and individual way by learners.
For that reason, the first part of this thesis is focused on the terms “competence-education” and “education- standards” as well as their implementation in the classroom. Furthermore, the didactic concept of “learning-paths” and the attempt to legitimize the application of these “learning paths” in the classrooms are presented.
The third chapter is concerned with the technical implementation of the learning –path on the subject of “Terms” (concerning the 7th grade in Austria) and the material, which has been developed for this purpose. All materials can be found on the CD (see last page).
This learning path has been tested successfully and the results are shown in the fourth and fifth part of this study. Thanks to a questionnaire, some information concerning working with the learning path in mathematics education could be evaluated.
The main objective of this thesis is to confront especially motivated teachers with the learning path method and to provide this path for their own lessons.
