Abstract (eng)
Same-sex couples are still faced with discriminations in most parts of the world. 2011 there are ten countries worldwide, which allow same-sex marriage and also some other countries have same-sex partnership laws. Since January 1st, 2010 Austria has a “Eingetragenes Partnerschaftsgesetz” for same-sex couples. This law is the subject of study in this master-thesis. It has been reviewed with the angle of view on heteronormativity. Through the making of a special law only for same-sex couples, the heterosexual hegemony and the institution of marriage is weakened. Heteronormativity is reproduced in this same-sex partnership law.
