Abstract (eng)
In the past years pilgrimage has experienced a great increase. Nowadays, pilgrimage routes attract a lot of people. As one of the most popular pilgrimage routes, the caminos are the best example. Its long history will be of further interest in this thesis. Ups and downs, as well as motives and causes of this phenomenon are discussed. These days, there are caminos to be found also outside of Spain. In Europe exists a big network of caminos, still growing in size. In April 2010 a new segment of the caminos in the Weinviertel, a region in Lower Austria, was established. The development and realization of the already existing pilgrimage route is discussed in this thesis. In the centre of attention are the determination of the route, the embedment of the project in LEADER-regions, emerging problems during this process, as well as diverse characteristics of the pilgrimage route itself. Finally, some ideas regarding an extension of the activity possibilities in the Jakobsweg Weinviertel are presented.
