Abstract (eng)
Due to the commercialization of football, the importance of understanding the economic issues has vastly increased. Therefore, the foundation for the overall success in professional football is placed on the economic level, since only the fulfilling of the economic requirements can secure the existence of a football club. Given the planned establishment of rules and guidelines to ensure the “financial fair-play” in European football by the UEFA in 2012, this thesis tries to analyse the funding opportunities and their future suitability in professional football. In the first part the theoretical basis is placed for an in-depth examination of the topic. In the second part the eligible funding alternatives are presented in detail and analysed according to criteria such as risk, structure, capital costs, suitability and use in football.
