The master thesis deals with an application of the reception-model of the
Bielefeld Research Group to comments to the ,happy slapping‘ videos on
YouTube. The reception-model bases on the seven types of media user. Each of
the type is characterized by a typical usage pattern. Only some of the media user
types are prone to imitation of the media contents.
According to the results of that group, moderate the user-profiles the reception
of the violent content. It follows that some types of media user tend to imitation
of the violent contents. The transfer of media user types to ,happy slapping'
video allows predicting, which types of 'happy slapping' cause imitation.
