Abstract (eng)
In my thesis, I examine new media’s possibilities to open innovative educational opportunities for deaf and blind people in order to offer them unlimited participation in social and cultural life.
Many different research fields arise from this point, ranging from medicine and diseases of the sense organs, over the necessary psychological, social, pedagogical and legal measures beginning with early interventions, social security, integration in schools and the use of technical and medical methods leading eventually to social inclusion.
The focus, however, will put on education as it is indispensable for life. It starts with learning speaking and writing skills and reaches to global cultural media competence. At the same time, social and emotional skills need to be developed as well so that integration and inclusion into society will be successful. The final goal is to reach disabled people’s psychosocial wellbeing.
Like that, a confident, creative and autonomous person determined by a positive self-image will appear. Thanks to new digital media, this person can find his place in a hearing and seeing society which accepts him as enriching part of life.
