Abstract (eng)
This diploma thesis deals with constitutive elements and the question which issues and topics
theatre for children and adolescent persons in Austria prefer in their repertoire. Based upon
practice related literature and the use of available surveys, all aspects of schedule
programmatic are elaborated.
The qualitative analysis is focussed on the schedule programmatic of the most important
stages for theatre for children and adolescent person from season 2008/09 up to 2012/13.
These include Dschungel Wien, Theater der Jugend Wien, Next Liberty Graz, u\hof: Theater
für junges Publikum and Theater des Kindes Linz. Due to stages profiles, age
recommendations and certain genres the most important issues and topics were evaluated.
The results of the diploma thesis show that mainly fairytales are shown for the younger
audience. The more older the audience, the more realistic the issues are. Topics and issues
from the point of view of the audience and also problems from everyday life, such as divorce,
patchwork-families, violence, sexuality and others. Music theatre for young people presents
less modern themes. For this genre theatres prefer especially classic material and imaginative
stories.
