Abstract (eng)
This thesis is about the development of the traffic system of the city „Zwettl“ in
Lower Austria in the years from 1900 until today. In order to do this there was on
the one hand a case study of the processes and changes in this period of time and
on the other hand there was a comparison between these instances and overall
city development theories. The covered fields are: motorized individual traffic,
public transport, rail movement, parking facilites, pedestrian and cyclist traffic. The
current construction of the bypass got a special treatment, because this project
and all of its repercussions have such a peculiar meaning for the city of „Zwettl“,
the surrounding region and the state of Lower Austria
