Abstract (eng)
In the scope of my dissertation „Empfindungsschrift“ Die affektiven Phänomene und Ich- Sensationen der Kunstfiguren in einigen Hörspielen von Friederike Mayröcker , I took up a topic of Prof. Elisabeth von Samsonow’s lecture „Ich bin die Vielen“, held during the summer term 2009 at the Akademie für Bildende Kunst (academy of fine arts) in Vienna. Samsonow focuses on the literary and social situation at the turn of the 20th century; she forms the thesis, that a development was started at the turn of the 20th century, that was revived in 1968 and manifests itself in the complete works of Friederike Mayröcker.
I have analysed some of Friederike Mayröcker’s radio plays regarding phenomena like ego-sensation, depersonalisation, hysteria and neurasthenia. All of these phenomena can also be detected in Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s early work. Like Friederike Mayröcker, Hofmannsthal has an intensive relation to the fine arts. Another similarity are the accounts of epiphanic moments in both their work. An important basis for my work is Ernst Mach’s „Theorie der Empfindung“, foremost his thesis „das Ich ist unrettbar“.
In one topic-block the dissertation concentrates on the influence of surrealism on Mayröcker’s work of radio plays.
Another subject area covers intermediality and its occurence in Mayröcker‘s radio plays selected here; she is often inspired by artists and works of art from other genres, especially the fine arts.
Some chapters are dedicated to hearing (foremost to Alfred Tomatis‘ research) as well as to the new radio play and its historical development, with special attention to Friederike Mayröcker’s radio plays.
My analysis shows that in addition to intermediality and surreal moods, there can be found a lot of evidence for „the unsavable ego“ and radio play charakters‘ nervous sensations in Friederike Mayröcker’s radio plays, thus confirming my thesis.
