Abstract (eng)
This research study investigates all-day schools at the primary level, with particular
emphasis on the leisure aspects in this particular type of schools.
In Vienna, Austria, the relevant pedagogical staff for leisure-time daycare at the primary
level is provided by the „Wiener Kinder- und Jugendbetreuung“(WKJB), a private
association working in close cooperation with municipal and federal education authorities.
The empirical part of this study focuses on the pedagogical staff of the WKJB as target
group and was carried out by an anonymous, random and voluntary online survey
employing a structured questionnaire (base n=52).
The results of this study are described with the help of four generated dimensions of leisure
in all-day schools.
