Abstract (eng)
In German literature from the realm of Latin didactics a concept called 'Vorentlastung' provides an umbrella term for various formats aimed at facilitating the translation process in class. This thesis investigates which formats of 'Vorentlastung' are realized in a primary corpus of four German textbooks for Latin. Based on these results, the main analysis is conducted by examining five Austrian textbooks for translating original Latin texts. Firstly, a quantitative analysis focuses on the usage of formats identified in the primary corpus in the main corpus. Secondly, as a result from the in-depth analysis, additional formats of 'Vorentlastung' found in the Austrian textbooks are described. The results of the analysis highlight that there is merely a limited number of possible formats of 'Vorentlastung' realized in the Austrian textbooks, indicating that in Austrian schoolbook production the concept of 'Vorentlastung' has not yet yielded corresponding task formats.
