Abstract (eng)
This thesis focusses on the topic of resilience in selected fairy tales of the collection of the brothers Grimm. It shows that the main characters of Rapunzel (KHM 12) Hänsel und Gretel (KHM 15), Aschenputtel (KHM 21), Frau Holle (KHM 24) and Das Mädchen ohne Hände (KHM 31) are examples for this psychological capability of resistance. The texts are analysed with an emphasis on a problematic initial position, the resilient behaviours of the acting persons, and their exemplary function for the recipients. The theoretical part discusses the literary genre fairy tale, as well as the term resilience used in different fields. Thereafter, the two fields literature and psychology are liaised, and in the following main chapter the selected texts are closely examined according to how resilience shows in them. This thesis demonstrates that the fictive world of the fairy tales exerts influence on the real life of the recipients. Therefore, the figures in these tales serve as models to overcome crises.
