Abstract (eng)
Discourse markers represent a young disciplin in linguistics and are nominated, characterized and classified differently by linguists. For this reason, there are still research gaps like, for example, the co-occurrence in languages, however the functions, which are attributed to discourse markers, are all the more investigated. The present diploma thesis deals with the discourse marker bueno, which is considered one of the most polyfunctional markers in Spanish. Among other functions, bueno creates coherence on discourse level. Bueno is frequently investigated being situated at the beginning of an utterance, however the corpus study in this paper puts its focus on bueno written in lower case. The results show, that the latter in fact is often situated in the middle of an utterance and therefore its principal function changes. In addition, bueno can be combined with more markers, which can be placed before or after bueno. This is due to the fact that bueno itself may not only be placed at the beginning of a sentence.
