Abstract (eng)
Women´s social and economic living conditions have changed radically since the end of World War II. Due to the increasing usage of household timesaving devices, women’s reproductive work is often considered to be “simple”, and requiring little effort. Based on physical and psychological conditions, the present qualitative study explores the subject of domestic work, focusing on the extent to which the aforesaid assumptions are actually applicable. The topic requires considering a wide range of basic factors influencing the aforementioned radical changes. The source material includes women’s own narratives as well as autobiographical manuscripts from authors of both sexes, who were alive during the research period (Part 1, Chapter 6-9), as well as the evaluation of anonymous opinions on the thematic complex, acquired on the basis of questionnaires (Part 2, Chapter 10).
