Abstract (eng)
The purpose of this study is to investigate how two children in two different Thai pre schools experience the daily salutation ceremony, and furthermore if this kind of ceremony impacts the future developments of infantine mental structures.
The idea for this master’s thesis arose during a transcultural workshop with Thai Professors from Srinakarinwirot University in Bangkok, headed by Prof. Wilfried Datler with the topic: “The impact of rules and rituals for the development of young children in the context of nursery schools: A transcultural approach”.
The interpretation of the empirical observation material, using the “Young Child Observation” as a research method, forms the main part of the study.
In the next step, the discussion results of the observation accounts are being reviewed, taking into account the aspects of a certain educational view held by a German author who is researching rituals in schools for many years.
Finally, we can conclude that in the research of rituals, there is a topic, which has not been the object of scientific dispute. This master’s thesis draws attention to a proposition, which would be worthy of further investigations.
