The correct terminology contributes to the proper functioning of communication within a specific expert field. This master's thesis serves as a translation-related bilingual terminology work on heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems for road and rail vehicles. The investigated languages are German and Russian. This paper aims to examine terms in German and Russian and to compile a glossary as addition to a small number of current dictionaries on topic HVAC systems. The paper consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part gives an overview of the basis of terminology and investigates the question of its topicality and significance in modern times. The practical part comprises 100 terminological entries, that were created according to principles of conceptual orientation, designation autonomy, granularity, combinability, elementarity of data fields and consistence of field contents. The methods used in the examination of selected terms are the descriptive elaboration of Russian and German terminology and structural and semantic analysis. The bilingual glossary DE-RU can be used as additional working tool for translating in the HVAC sector. As HVAC systems is very extensive expert area, the present paper does not claim to be complete.
