Die vorliegende Masterarbeit behandelt die Herausforderung, den Subjektbegriff, der alle Menschen als handelnde, Gesellschaft potentiell verändernde Subjekte theoretisch zu konzipieren vermag, feministisch zu reformulieren. In den ersten Kapiteln wird historisch nachgezeichnet, wie sich das Verhältnis Marx‘scher Gesellschaftstheorien zu feministischen Theorien entwickelt hat und welche Annahmen und auch aktuelle Debatten prägende Kämpfe damit einhergehen. Folglich werden explizit die Möglichkeiten erarbeitet, die die gemeinsame Perspektive einer feministischen und einer subjekt-sensiblen Gesellschaftstheorie der ersten Generation der Kritischen Theorie analytisch bieten kann. Mit Rückgriff auf theoretische Überlegungen von Regina Becker-Schmidt soll eine Rekonstruktion ihrer Kritik an Theodor W. Adorno als feministische Ideologiekritik entlang der Begriffe ‚Relationalität‘, ‚Vermittlung‘ und ‚Abhängigkeit‘ eine Perspektive auf eine Analyse des Verhältnisses von gesellschaftlicher Struktur und Subjekte möglich machen. Die Konzepte einer kritischen feministischen Gesellschaftstheorie werden in der Masterarbeit hinsichtlich der Formulierung eines Subjektbegriffs mit Becker-Schmidt und darüber hinaus erweitert und als ‚Doppelte Relationalität‘ oder ‚Innere Vermittlung‘ für ein feministisches Verständnis diskutiert. Aus der Rekonstruktion dieser Konzepte wird ein feministischer Subjektbegriff in seiner Formbestimmung als relational, vermittelt und abhängig entwickelt. Entgegen der ‚androzentrischen‘ Grundannahmen im Subjektbegriff (beispielsweise die Möglichkeit der Autonomie sowie das hierarchische Verhältnis von Ratio und Emotion) wird der Begriff ausgehend von der feministischen Notwendigkeit von Abhängigkeiten diskutiert. Eine Negation dieser Abhängigkeit als Grundlage sozialer Beziehungen einerseits und der Reproduktion eines gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhangs andererseits würde die Gewaltförmigkeit der Geschlechterverhältnisse in kapitalistischen Strukturen fortschreiben.

This Master thesis engages in the challenge of reformulating a notion of the subject from a feminist perspective, which is capable of theoretically conceiving all human beings as endowed with the potential to change societal structures. After tracing the historical relationship of Marxist and feminist theory and carving out key assumptions and struggles that still characterize current debates, the work explores the analytical potential that arises from the common perspective of feminist and the subject-sensitive social theory of the first-generation Critical Theory. With reference to theoretical considerations from Regina Becker-Schmidt, a reconstruction of her critique of Theodor W. Adorno as a feminist critique of ideology along the concepts of ‘relationality’, ‘mediation’ and ‘dependency’ enables an analysis of the relationship between social structures and subjects. The thesis extends – with and beyond Becker-Schmidt – these concepts of a critical feminist social theory for a feminist understanding of the subject-notion by discussing them as 'double relationality' or 'inner mediation'. A feminist notion of the subject is developed as relational, mediated and dependent from the reconstruction of these concepts. Contrary to ‘androcentric’ assumptions in the notion of the subject (for example, the possibility of autonomy and the relationship between ratio and emotion), the subject is discussed based on the feminist need for dependency as constitutive for the notion itself. A negation of this dependency as the basis of social relations on the one hand and the reproduction of a social context on the other hand would therefore reproduce the violent gender relations in capitalist structures.
