Das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit ist es, eine wissenschaftliche Begründung für eine frühere Einbettung der Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung in der österreichischen Schulmathematik zu diskutieren und Rückschlüsse darauf zu ziehen, an welcher Stelle im österreichischen Lehrplan der Sekundarstufe I bestimmte stochastische Inhalte eingeführt werden können.
Um dieser Zielsetzung zu entsprechen, werden einerseits Ergebnisse der empirischen Forschung aus der Mathematikdidaktik und der kognitiven Psychologie sowie fachdidaktische Prinzipien herangezogen. Andererseits wird die Implementierung der Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung in den Lehrplänen und Unterrichtsmaterialien englischsprachiger Länder (USA und England) mit dem Schwerpunkt der Sekundarstufe I verglichen. Dieses Bild wird durch ein paar Beispiele für unterstützenden Technologieeinsatz im Stochastikunterricht abgerundet.

The aim of this thesis is to debate the scientific arguments for an earlier introduction of probability into Austrian school mathematics and to draw inferences about the grades at which certain stochastic content could be introduced into the Austrian lower secondary curriculum.
For this purpose, results of empirical research from the disciplines of mathematics didactics and cognitive psychology as well as didactical principles will be discussed. Furthermore, the implementation of probability in the standards, curricular documents and teaching materials of anglophone countries (the US and England) will be compared with special regards to lower secondary education. Additionally, examples for the use of technology to support stochastics education will be presented.
