Abstract (eng)
This master thesis evaluates the impact of action-oriented learning based on integrated outdoor activities, on the competence of teamwork in adolescents with disabilities and/or other disadvantages.
The target group comes from the vocational preparation course “Jobfit”, aiming to integrate young people with special needs in the labour market. Within seminars, mentors train self and social competences with the students as key skills for the labour market. One of these skills is teamwork.
For this research project, the adolescents’ team competency was assessed by their mentors at the beginning and end of their seminars. Additionally, at the beginning and end of the training, the young people also assessed themselves with the same skills profile in simplified language. A control group formed the basis for a comparison of results.
The broad range and diversity of abilities and disabilities of the participants posed a challenge to the study. Nevertheless, the external assessment from the mentors and the self-assessment of the adolescents, indicate a significant improvement of the competence teamwork in the target group.
