Abstract (eng)
In recent years geopolitical topics have gained essential importance in science, among others in cultural sciences as they are covered in various fields such as ethnocentrism, capitalism, post-colonialism, etc..
Geopolitics as a scientific subject has a rich history in the German and Anglo-American region, where some interesting theoretical concepts on world powers, among others their distribution and rule relationships have been established in the course of time.
The theoretical part of this paper deals with these concepts “in the narrower sense” and tries to visualize some of the problems and questions of geopolitics as a subject.
The topic of the master's thesis is strongly focused and based on geopolitics: “the national security strategy of Lithuania: Russia's geopolitical tactics in the 21st century”.
This thesis tries to research and define the meaning and the role of the foreign policy of Russia not only on the national, but also on the international level. It focuses on the problematic bilateral relations between Russia and Lithuania as well as the influence of Russian foreign policy on the Lithuanian security and defense policy.
