Abstract (eng)
This master’s thesis entitled „Integration and Immigration in Italy“ deals with the analysis of the historical and political processes of the integration of immigrants in Italy in the time span from the post-war period to the present. In the thesis, important concepts such as integration, segregation and migration are illustrated. An overview of the various Italian immigration and integration policies from the 1950s to the present is offered, and finally a comprehensive description of the Italian integration model is provided. The aim of this thesis is to show how Italy has processed the strong waves of migration over the years and how migrants are accepted into the local population. The methodology used is based on a detailed literature analysis. Based on the analysis of the texts of different authors, an attempt is made to carve out the key aspects of the present thesis.
