Abstract (deu)
Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Comics und Graphic Novels aus dem Standpunkt der Fachdidaktik Geschichte, Sozialkunde und politische Bildung. Im Zentrum der Untersuchung steht das Verhältnis von Fakt und Fiktion in Geschichte darstellenden Comics im Allgemeinen und dem Analyseobjekt Der Fotograf von Mauthausen im Speziellen. Dazu wurde eine qualitative Inhaltsanalyse anhand der Analyseeinheiten ‚Geschichtsdarstellung‘, ‚Geschichtskompetenz‘ und ‚Geschichtsbewusstsein‘ durchgeführt. Das Analyseobjekt bietet eine triftige Geschichtserzählung, reichhaltige Authentisierungsstrategien, Fördermöglichkeiten in sämtlichen historischen Kompetenzbereichen und eine Anregung des Geschichtsbewusstseins, insbesondere der Dimensionen des Wirklichkeitsbewusstseins und des moralischen Bewusstseins. Demnach eignet sich Der Fotograf von Mauthausen für einen Einsatz im Geschichtsunterricht zum Themenkomplex ‚Nationalsozialismus und Holocaust‘.

This work focuses on comics and graphic novels from the perspective of the didactics of history, social studies and political education. The study centers around the relation between fact and fiction in comics depicting history in general and particularly the object of analysis The Photographer of Mauthausen. For this purpose, a qualitative content analysis was conducted based on the categorization into the units ‘historical narrative’, ‘historical competence’ and ‘historical thinking’. The object of analysis offers a cogent historical narrative, rich authentication strategies, a possibility of competence development in all historical competence areas and a stimulation of historical thinking, especially in the dimensions of reality awareness and ethical awareness. Accordingly, The Photographer of Mauthausen is suitable for use in history lessons on the topic of ‘National Socialism and Holocaust’.
