Abstract (eng)
The main goal of this study was to evaluate an online self-management training. For this pur-pose a randomized pre-post test design with a follow-up survey containing two groups was used. The survey of the trial and waiting control group took place on the same days by con-ducting online surveys. Depending on the research question, the results were collected from at least 120 participants who were older than 18 years at the pretest and who had experience in working from home before or at least at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the conception of a training to increase self-motivation according to Kuhl, Ryan and Deci, for a period of four weeks exercises were made available to the test group via the MOVEEFFECT platform after the baseline survey was completed. Afterwards the post survey was conducted and after another two weeks the follow up survey took place for the trial and waiting control group. To check the effectiveness of the training to increase self-motivation, two ANCOVAs and a t-test for dependent samples were calculated. In this regard, the statistical analyzes showed not only a small training effect after training, but also a stability of the self-motivation values over the two post-survey times. Accordingly, it can be assumed that the training con-tributed an, at least short term, increase in self-motivation of the participants of the test group. However, further adjustments and investigations are required to determine long-term effects.
