Abstract (eng)
This master’s thesis deals with an actualization of Ignacio Ellacuría SJ’s way of theology. The concrete example is a project in San Salvador, which the author visited herself. The reality of life of the Salvadoran population is characterised by massive violence. In addition, the majority of Salvadorans live in poverty and suffer from institutional and structural injustice. Facing this reality, the research project Violencia y redención - una reconciliación a partir de las víctimas of the Maestría en Teología Latinoamericana, the Master's programme in Latin American Theology of the Universidad Centroamericana in San Salvador, came into being. In this project, the victims of current violence have their say and are given the opportunity to talk about their fates in a safe space. In the project reports, the research group shows ways of reconciliation and redemption in the face of the prevailing dynamics of violence. The victims articulated some concrete proposals, which led to these ways, which are already followed by them in parts. The research group sees its project as an actualisation of the Theology of Liberation, especially the perspective of Ignacio Ellacuría SJ, one of its main representatives in San Salvador. In relation to his thinking and basic approaches, this thesis examined the way liberation theology is actualised within the project. In doing so, Ellacuría’s great influence became clear in relation to the method of the research group, as well as on a thematic level in the context of the qualitative analysis of the interviews. The analysis carried out in the course of this thesis showed that both, the topicality and the relevance of the Theology of Liberation in the face of the current reality of El Salvador, were proven. However, the thesis shows the continuing necessity of a theological reading of the victims’ realities of live today and therefore may propose: Theology of Liberation is alive.
