Abstract (eng)
This thesis, titled as "Assessing the Legal Foundations and Challenges of Referring the Situation in Iran to the International Criminal Court: A Study on Human Rights Violations in Iran since 2019" thoroughly examines the potential referral of Iran to the International Criminal Court by the United Nations Security Council, addressing legal foundations, human rights violations, and challenges in international intervention. The study underscores the necessity for law-driven interventions, cautioning against symbolic actions and emphasizing the imperative for a principled approach to ensure justice without unintended consequences. The findings contribute to the discourse on transnational justice, advocating for a nuanced and careful global accountability strategy.
