Arnoldus de Villa Nova (1235 - 1311) war ein bedeutender katalanischer Arzt, Alchimist und Mystiker, er war zugleich scholastischer Gelehrter und Rektor der Universität Montpellier. Allerdings wurden seine philosoph. Werke von der Inquisition vernichtet, die Echtheit der überlieferten alchimistischen und medizinischen Schriften ist umstritten, sie werden teilw. einer gleichnamigen Persönlichkeit des 15. Arnaldus de Villa Nova (1235–1311) was an important catalan physician, alchemist and mysitic. He was also a scholastic scholar and the rector of Montpellier University. However, most of his writings were burned by the inquisition and the authenticity of the surviving writings is debatable. They are sometimes attributed to a 15th century person of the same name.
