Teil 1B: Ivette Fuentes-Schuller: Relativistic Quantum Information Theory (zweiter Teil)
Moderation: Beatrix Hiesmayr
The insight that the world is fundamentally quantum mechanical inspired the development of quantum information theory. However, the world is not only quantum but also relativistic, and indeed many implementations of quantum information tasks involve truly relativistic systems. In this lecture relativistic effects on entanglement in flat space-times are considered. To this end, the notions of entanglement and the Unruh effect in quantum field theory which causes the degradation of entanglement from the perspective of observers in uniform acceleration are introduced. The relevance of the results derived extends beyond pure quantum information theory, and applications to foundational questions in black hole physics will be briefly discussed.
