Title
PZB 28-2 Felber: Abrahams Aufbruch als Privileg. Beispiele allegorischer Exegese
Description (en)
The paper deals with the allegorical interpretation of Abraham’s migration (Gen 12:1‒6). Philo interprets this journey as the soul’s way to God, seeking to compensate for the traditional topoi of loss in exile literature through God’s gifts. Origen and Ambrose see in it the Christian existence of the baptized. This results in a concrete application in the context of martyrdom and asceticism.
