After the installation of the Chair of Natural Philosophy including Physics, the foundation of the Museum Mathematicum in the Jesuit College in 1714 was the second important step in the development of the subject of physics at the University of Vienna. It was only in 1718 that two different Jesuit manuscripts report on this, both of which are quite identical. One is in the Austrian National Library, the other in the ARSI (Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu). The manuscript in the ARSI is a few sentences more detailed.
In addition, the further development is outlined, especially from the point of view of the physics history collection of the University of Vienna.
